Elkx-Box Quickstart

This is an example how an uncustomized Elkx-Box looks like on a page about blogging popularity.

This post intends to give you a short overview and quickstart on how to use Elkx-Box. In-depth information is available on Elkx-Box’s website as well as a visual tour.

First, Elkx-Box means “embeddable multilingual keyword extraction box” which describes quite what it is: a widget that appears as a small box that can easily be embedded into your website by including a JavaScript application that starts a linguisitic backend. This backend analyzes the page and extracts all keywords that describe its content best. At the current state of development, Elkx-Box can handle English, German, French and Spanish content.

In a nutshell, adding an Elkx-Box widget to your blog’s sidebar is as easy as adding the following line of code:

However, you may be interested in customizing Elkx-Box to suite your blog’s or website’s layout best. To fulfill this task, Elkx-Box provides a straightforward customization webfrontend and –for more advanced users– the possibility to configure and fine-tune Elkx-Box’s appearance manually.

Elkx-Box online

We are proud to announce that Elkx-Box.com is online and as a result, Elkx-Box is finally ready for public use.

Last steps in progress

The last weeks included some hard work on Elkx-Box’s linguistic backend as well as on its website. We checked every single feature on a variety of browsers and fixed some remaining bugs. We are pleased to announce, that at the current state of development, Elkx-Box should work as expected

However, some last legal information has to be reviewed and a new server has to be rented and set up.

We hope to be able to launch Elkx-Box.com in early march and introduce a new feature to the blogging community.
